February PTO Meeting Minutes

Welcome

Treasurer Report: Cara

Cara shared updates including interest, check for the Rothschild PTO scholarship, and ordering popcorn for movie night.

New Business:

• Movie Night – February 13, 2025: Ted will be prepared to get the movie started. Items that need to be purchased are bags and mini water bottles. Popcorn will be bagged at the middle school.
• Teacher Conference Meal – February 25, 2025: PTO will provide soup, bread, and dessert (cookies?). Erin will coordinate food ordering and delivery. Board members will provide crock pots needed for the soup.
• Read-a-Thon: Let’s Glow Read-a-Thon plans were made. Ted will work on envelope design. PTO members will assemble envelopes and get them ready for class distribution. Donations can be cash, check, or PTO Venmo. Top readers in each class will get a bookstore gift card. PTO will make a video to kick off the event on March 31st. This event is a Title I event.
• Volunteer Coordinator Opening: The PTO board approves Melissa Fetting as the Volunteer Coordinator.

Announcements:

Next month’s meeting will include discussion about the family fun night/carnival.

September PTO Meeting Minutes

6:00-7:00 pm  

Attendees:  Erin Rajek (President), Brittany Burnett (Vice President),  Cara Drolshagen (Treasurer), Krystal Kneser (Secretary), Ted  Aleckson (principal), Parents: Zach and Kristina Patterman and  Melissa Fetting  Welcome  Treasurer Report: Cara 

Cara reviewed the treasurer's report. Items that have been paid since the last meeting are staff t-shirts,  parent post cards, and staff appreciation k-cups and treats. The 2024-2025 PTO budget will be set  pending the results of the fall fundraiser. 

Principal’s Report: Mr. Aleckson 

• School is off to a great start.
• Parent update coming via email on important information and updates.
• Students are working hard on learning about R.O.C.K.S. (respect, ownership, choices, kind,  safe) behavior. New R.O.C.K.S. tickets are going out. As students collect tickets in each  category, they will be able to earn a R.O.C.K.S. bracelet to proudly wear to school.

Old Business: 

• Fall fundraiser - September 13- October 1:  Fundraiser video will be played for students on Thursday  morning. Brittany and Erin will go class to class talking about the fundraiser and taking questions.  Packets will go home Friday.
• Playground Palooza:  Brittany will pick up popsicles from Sam’s Club to hand out during the event.
• Trunk or Treat - October 11, 5-7PM:  Sign up Genius will need to be updated for this year’s event. The  categories will be candy/trinket donation, decorated trunk, or game. Erin will look over and update as  needed.
• Dine Out Fundraisers:  Erin and Cara will work on making some restaurant contacts.

New Business: 

• Donation Protocol - Ted:  Ted updated on what counts as a fundraiser when asking businesses for  donations.
• PTO Volunteers - Brittany:  Brittany learned that we can email PTO volunteers via the Volunteer  Tracker.
• Parents Skills Night:  This item was tabled until the October meeting.
• Staff Appreciation -  Staff dinner was discussed for conference night. Last year Chang Garden went  over well, so that could be a possibility again this year. Ted will follow up with a date and number of  teachers.
